Organisers have confirmed hip hop artiste Teephlow as the headline performer at this year’s Jigwe Awards slated for 23rd December 2015. The awards will be LIVE on This Morning from 7 a.m.
Teephlow is expected to thrill viewers with his hit single ‘The Warning’ which he features BET Award winner, Sarkodie. Joining to perform on the day is the evergreen highlife legend, Ben Brako, who has been a friend to Viasat1 for years. Last year’s event recorded a major success with excellent performances from Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Wutah, Dcryme, among others.
The Jigwe Awards lived up to be the most-talked-about event last year due to its controversial nature. The ‘Jigwes’ is a parody event that recognises personalities and organisations that have attracted the most headlines and have been most talked about for various reasons during the year.
Top celebrities and personalities including Jessica Opare Saforo, Yvonne Okoro and sister, Roselyn Okoro, Berla Mundi, Wiyaala, MzVee, and Bisa Kdei, who have all been nominated in various categories, have confirmed their participation at the year’s event.
Other nominees expected to grace the Jigwe Awards 2015 are Adomaa, Efya, E.L, Sarkodie, and Shatta Wale, KOD, Kojo Frempong, Bola Ray, Jon Germain, Yvonne Nelson, Afua Rida, Sika Osei, Reggie Rockstone, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Samini, Akosua Agyepong, John Dumelo, James Gardiner, and Deborah Vanessa. The rest are DKB, Kalybos, Bismark the Joke, General Ntatia, VVIP, Keche, among others.
Meanwhile, Pappy Kojo, Kwaw Kese and Adomaa have all endorsed Jigwe Awards 2015.The event will come off on Wednesday, 23rd December 2015 at the studios of Viasat1 in Labone, Accra.
‘Jigwe Awards’ was derived from a term mainly used by hosts of This Morning, Patrice and Kokui, to describe the goodness of the show and everything positive & quality. The term is also used to describe the show’s audience and guests.
