The Kajaji district head and elder of the Apostolic Church of Ghana in the Sene East district of the Brong Ahafo region have been reportedly shot dead by armed robbers.
The two, Pastor Sackey and Elder Ampaw were traveling to Ashanti Mampong in the Ashanti region to welcome their area head when the unfortunate incident occurred.
According to an eyewitness, Kwabena Manu, the deceased who were travelling with other church members decided to use a motorcycle to get to the venue early.
But, he said they were ambushed by the armed robbers on the Atebubu-Kumasi highway and shot them.
“Their bible and other belongings were still intact at the back of the motorbike when we got the scene” Kwabena Manu stated.
He noted that, the police was quickly called to the scene but the armed robbers escaped through a nearby bush.
The police in Atebubu has mounted a manhunt for the armed robbers pending investigations.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Ashanti Mampong government hospital morgue for autopsy.
