Ex-Black Stars, Hearts of Oak Coach Sir Jones Attuquayefio has passed on
The Legendary Ex-Black Stars, former Hearts of Oak Coach, Coach Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefio has passed on yesterday 12th May 2015 in the morning, at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra. He battled with a throat cancer for years while he was still coaching.
 
Coach Jones Attuquayefio, popularly known as the Millennium Coach chalked several of his successes as a coach when he was in the helms of affairs at Accra Hearts of Oak.
 
He led Hearts of Oak to win the CAF Champions League in 2000 as well as the CAF Super Cup. He also led Hearts to win the maiden CAF Confederation Cup against their arch-rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in 2005
 
He also managed Ghana's national team. In 2008/2009 Attuquayefio coached Liberty Professionals F.C. and became the title coach of the Century.

Cecil Jones Attuquayefio was named African coach of the year in 2000 after his club Accra Hearts of Oak of Ghana won the African Champions league with only one loss throughout the entire tournament (to DC Motema Pembe).

He also led Benin to their first ever Africa Cup of Nations in 2004 in Tunisia.
 
Born on 18 October 1944 at Accra, He was aged 70.
