Nuru soldiers on with his mission to fly Ghana’s colours having been nominated in this year’s African Music Awards (AFRIMA 3.0).
The rapper makes the nomination list with his 2016 banger, 'In A Moment' which features his label mate, At'son. He will be sweating for honour in the Most Promising African Act of the Year award.
Nuru faces competition from 7 other artists: Amine Aub (Morocco), Antenehminalu (Ethiopia), Bisa Kdei (Ghana), Butera Knowles (Rwanda), Elzo Jamdong (Senegal), Ric Hassani (Nigeria) and Sat-B (Burundi).
Voting for artists in all categories began on Monday, September 12 and will end on Saturday, November 5 through the Afrima website as indicated by newspapers across Africa.
In partnership with the African Union Commission and the Official Host City, Lagos State, AFRIMA 3.0. calendar of events for November 4-6, 2016 will include the Africa Music Business Summit on Friday, November 4, and the AFRIMA Music Village, an open concert-style festival featuring nominees and other top billed music stars. The grand awards ceremony holds on Sunday, November 6 with over 6,000 guests expected in Lagos, Nigeria for the various events.
Wiyaala won the Most Promising Artist in 2014 and was succeeded by Kiss Daniel in 2015.
