This is my first glance of list of most trending Ghanaian songs in my community. I decided to list seven (7) songs for now.
This criteria I used to list this songs are; the year/month of released song, having constant airplay on radio stations, streets, bars/spots/clubs, loaded on mobile phones and Mp3 players of musicians in every corner of my community as a result of the good production and the catchiness of the songs making it to the heart of the people in my community.
These songs are hit in town, and if you think am lying, just travel and visit my communities (Akyem-Kukurantumi, Tafo, Adonkwanta, Asafo, Maase etc) and take a walk through town, go to various spots/bars, interview some few people in the town and ask them the songs trending here.
These listed artistes above serving the people with good music that keep them happy and get them dancing on their feet.
Most of the time I wonder if it just that, some of the artistes that do not listen to their managers or team members because sometimes even from outside its clear the artiste is doing wrong music, or promoting of the song isn’t in the right procedures or process.
Nanakesse24.com and #TeamNanakesse24 were able to catch-up 7 hot bangers, 6 circular songs and 1 gospel song; Telemo by Gasmilla, Go High by Stonebwoy, Wurewurafo by Koo Ntakra, Wo Onane No by Kwamz & Flava, Shame On You by Keche, Yete Abr3 by Tee Rhyme and Hyebre Sesafo by Obaapa Christy.
NB: No Artiste has paid me to do this for him/her; it’s what have heard and seen in community and what the people have been saying.
The Bottom line is that; “you don’t have to go to a music school to know good music, the ears automatically knows it when it hears it”
The List of Artistes
7. Obaapa Christy – Hyebr3 Sesafo:
Obaapa Christy formally known as Christiana Love is one of the Gospel pioneers and this song cements her position. She is the only Female and Gospel artiste to make it this list of most trending songs in my community. It’s not only that’s good but the music video is well directed too. You can share tears anytime you watch the video. Sometimes am surprised people have been jamming with this song in spots and some other joints that tell you how good the song is. It ranks 7th in my community.
6. Tee Rhyme Feat Cabum – Yete Abr3:
He is a young and upcoming Artist; you might be shock for him to be listed among these big stars. The radio stations in my community always play this song and more times you hear his song playing on streets. This song has been a slogan in my community “Y3te saa y3br3”. He featured one of the untouchable sound engineer and rapper Cabum. It ranks 6th in my community.
5. Keche – Shame On You:
Keche will always be one of the best groups in Ghana and Africa. Keche’s “Shame On You” is my favorite of all their songs and am happy my community has accepted the catchy song. It’s not only the song that is good but every Keche’s song makes hit, the likes of Pressure, Sokode, Aluguntugui. It ranks 5th in my community.
4. Kwamz & Flava Feat. R2Bees – Wo Onane No:
The smashing hit single “Wo Onane No” has been the next biggest tune just recently this year. Coast 2 Coast Entertainment Artistes had the original version and a remix featuring the untouchable group R2Bess. The original version of this song has been a hit worldwide and the remix is just crazy. The Ghanaian dup Kwamz & Flava based in UK feature R2bees from Ghana on this one and it’s BoatzMadeIt on the production. This song happens to be the hottest Ghanaian song in U.K currently after Antenna by Fuze ODG. The people in my community always jam with it and it has been ringtone for many mobile phone users. It ranks 4th in my community.
3. Koo Ntakra Feat. Pope Skinny – Wurewurafo:
The Hitmaker Koo Ntakra is making it big and certainly shows his level. Asuoden music boss and Host of Kasahari Levels Pope Skinny teams up with him on this. “Wurewurafo” which was released as part of the singles off his Akuaba album has since received massive airplays and reviews across various media platform, seeing it have two viral dance videos, one shot exclusively in Italy. The video which was directed and shot by Ohene of Haus 317, who also directed the award winning song ‘seihor’ video by Castro and D Black, talks about guys now preferring ladies who sell in these economic hardships to those perceived ‘fine’ girls who always rely on men. It ranks 3rd in my community.
2. Stonebwoy – Go Higher:
The much anticipated Afro-Dancehall song “Go High” by the 2015 BET Award Winner Stonebwoy has won the heart of the people in my community, mostly the youth. The song has brought out some kind of inspiration to the people in my community. Song so dope, it makes you put it on repeat. The people in my community always jam with it and it has been ringtone for many mobile phone users. It ranks 2nd in my community.
1. Gasmilla ft Capasta – Telemo:
If you want a song that would enlighten your spiritual being talk to your heart and stuff, then Gasmilla’s “Telemo” which he featured one new rapper Capasta, is probably not what you’re looking for. Those who understand the language will know what I am talking about. “Telemo” is a Ga word and it means in English as ‘Burden’. This song was released last calendar year. The music video of this song is awesome and on point which narrates everything about the song. He is hoping to win awards with it. It ranks 1st in my community.
