Mark Okraku-Mantey Hits Back at Sarkodie's Manager - "When Lord Kenya was Rapping, Where Was BET?"
Programmes Coordinator for Hitz 103.9 FM, Mark Okraku-Mantey, has pledged never again to comment on issues concerning rapper Sarkodie.
He was responding to comments by Sammy Forson, Sarkodie's manager.
Sammy Forson, on his Twitter handle, attacked Mr Okraku-Mantey for ostensibly describing him as nothing but an “errand boy” to the rapper.

The comments were allegedly made on Peace FM's Saturday entertainment review show. Mark, however, denied ever making those comments.

The back and forth between the two figures comes on the back of the widely talked about issue involving Sarkodie and American rapper Ace Hood.

Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, has been accused of lying after Ace Hood publicly denied his claims that he had contacted him (Sarkodie) to produce a new collaboration called ‘New Guy’.

Ace Hood, in a tweet, revealed that he had only agreed to go ahead with the feature after the Ghanaian rapper had paid $25,000.

Speaking on Hitz FM, Mark insisted that he did not see Forson, as Sarkodie's manager, in the deal involving the two artistes.

He also did not understand why mobile telecommunications network, Tigo, released a statement only after entertainment critics had hinted that the Sarkodie-Ace Hood deal was done under the auspices of one of Tigo’s products, Deezer.

According to Okraku-Mantey, Tigo Deezer and Sarkodie’s management were to be responsible for the joint release of ‘New Guy’.
A disappointed Okraku-Mantey described Forson's actions as shameful, saying it indicates that nobody is allowed to comment on Sarkodie.

“Sammy Forson should also not expect people to talk about Sarkodie when he also does good things. Sammy is a friend and so I'll still want to show him respect and next time he hears things, he should try to find out those who said [them],” he said.

On Forson's dig at Mark that the latter was unable to do anything with highlife musicians he once managed, Mark retorted: “It is a non-starter. When [one of the artistes he managed] Lord Kenya was rapping years ago, where was BET in Africa?”

Sarkodie’s new joint with Ace Hood is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
