HIP-HOP’S latest power couple Nicki Minaj and Meek Meek made their biggest headline in April when they fuelled rumours that they were ready to say their “I dos” to one another.
But contrary to popular belief, wearing a huge diamond ring on your left hand doesn’t always mean you’re engaged.
Despite widespread rumors, which were sparked when Minaj posted an Instagram photo of her new heart-shaped ring, the two hip-hop stars are not engaged.
In Mill’s new cover story interview with The Fader magazine, he sets the record straight once and for all about potential wedding bells in the couple’s future.
With Minaj joining him for much of the interview, Mill, 28, told the mag in its first summer music issue that the stunning 15-carat diamond ring that he gave the star is simply not an engagement ring.
“It’s definitely real,” the Amen performer told the magazine about his relationship with Minaj, 32. “But it ain’t really time to get married yet. We’re still learning each other, feeling each other out.”
The 32-year-old Spaceship star, who split from Safaree Samuels in late 2014 after 12 years of dating, sent fans into a frenzy two months ago when she posted a diamond ring emoticon on Twitter in April, writing: ”I’ll post it later.’

The Anaconda rapper then shared a photo via Instagram of the massive rock from her boyfriend. As fans mouthes began to flap over Mill and Minaj’s future as husband and wife, the stars stayed mum on their romantic status.
Mill said he needed to clear up the speculation with one family member, however, as he told The Fader that his grandmother was convinced he was engaged because “whatever she sees on TV, she believes.”
