Ronald Adjei (born on February 7th 1986), better known by his stage name Rony TurnMeUp, is a Ghanaian record producer and record label executive. Rony was born in Labadi to Ghanaian parents. Growing up, Ronald mostly sketch from his own Trans imaginations and try to bring it to life. He attended Garrison Junior High School where he found his gift to be an unveiled talented music personnel by getting himself involve in every music arts on campus. As a brilliant and dexterous youth, The CEO of TurnUP Productions Gh started creating his own rhythm and melody without tuition from any music school. At his reign on middle school campus; Presbyterian Senior High, Ronald made a benchmark by putting his whole into what he had plan and ploy to become in future. This reflected in his early reign as a music producer. Later, he decided to further his work to become a master piece at Ghanatta College of Art and Design. In oder to get the business forward, Rony introduced his style of production on softwares like the logic Pro, Fruity loops before moving to cube base5.
Looking back on his early life, the stunning and magnificent record producer took sound production as a profession at the age of 25, though he had to essentially live two different lives because he had creative art and music as an option. Comparing and looking up to great sound engineers like ‘Timbaland',Rony was discouraged and demoralized by some friends and blood relatives; they use to pass hope dampen and dispiriting comments like, '' why you figure say you go be the next Timbaland or what?'',but despite all the frustration and exasperation,he never stopped hoping and dreaming big.he decided to make things work in his own way with force commitment and divination. Now, Rony is here with his own style of music production which the fans love and he is gradually transforming the Ghanaian music industry from it ancient.
With the little inspiration he had from one Richard Amoako; a good friend and sound producer, Rony has worked with top Ghanaian Artists such as Prodigal of VVIP fame, Hip Hop maestro Sarkodie ,Scizo, Jupitar, Tinny,Kwaw kese, 2015 BET Award winner stonebwoy , Eazzy, 4x4 and many more. He's hopping to work with the likes of chris brown, Popcaan, Mavado, rihana,Mafiki zolo,ice prince and jessi Jags in a few years to come. In an interview with Qillaghana.blogspot.com, He vowed to take Ghanaian Music to a different level in terms of trend and style of music and also be a big influence to other Music producers in the African Music industry. I wouldn't be amazed if I see him working with some mainstream foreign Artists and sweeping the MTV and CHANNEL O AWARDS five years from now because, his style and level of producing songs is just beyond imagination.
On his thought about the current state of the Ghanaian music Industry, Rony politely said ,"I feel we lack professional skills and branding. I'm not saying we should copy the foreign style but we need to learn a lot from the Western world to grow the Ghanaian music industry."He also stated that,"coming up against equally good producers is very challenging but it makes me stronger to stand out. I try as much as possible to meet up to standards and i put in more creativity that makes my works unique and pleasant to the listeners out there."
Though Rony is a fan of Regge/Dancehall music, but he produces all kinds and genres of music; Hip Hop,Afro Pop, High Life,Hip Life,Crank,Gospel ,Azonto and any other genre one can think of. Speaking on what's currently cooking in the studio, he said," currently, I am working on Scizo's album, Jupiter's single," WHY WORRY" and also working with a new dope Artiste called Kofi Metta. he's really talented."
