21st September, being the birthday of Ghana’s first president Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah is celebrated as Founders Day and the holiday saw many Ghanaians throng various event locations to have fun.
The story wasn’t different in Oseikrom , where seats inside the Plush Lounge, located in the KNUST Jubilee Mall were filled by the enthusiastic audience waiting to have their ribs cracked with the finest Comedians in Ghana as well as treated to good live band music from the resident band and guest artiste SHAKES.
It was Foster Romanus who set the ball rolling with his jokes that kept the audience near to tears for over 30 minutes, and then SHAKES was called upon to treat the audience to his songs. It was the first time SHAKES was performing while playing the guitar all by himself. Doing an acoustic rendition of his hit song “Black Star” the musician, and poet brought the lyrics to life with every strum on his guitar that set the crowd of over 200 to a different level of appreciation of the song as he rapped on, especially as it resonates with all that Kwame Nkrumah stood for- A Black Star. He then went on to perform a mix of his latest “Give Me A Chance” and “Missing You Baby” .
The audience were knocked of their seats literally when the show continued with comedy performance by Bismark The Joke and climaxed by Ghana’s finest comedian-DKB himself.
