“The Vampire Diaries,” “Pretty Little Liars” and “Furious 7″ lead the 2015 Teen Choice Awards nominees with five noms each. “Insurgent,” “Pitch Perfect 2,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1,” “Avengers” and “Empire” are also making a big splash with four nominations at this year’s awards show.
The first wave of nominees were released this week, thanks to more than 500,000 fans heading to Twitter to unlock the nominations. Continued voting for more categories is now open on TeenChoice.com, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with fans able to vote once each day per category on the website, or by posting to social media with a category-specific hashtag (see below) with their nominees’ names until June 26.
Additional nominees, plus the host, performers and presenters, will be announced later.
The Teen Choice Awards, which celebrates pop culture icons in TV, film, music, sports, fashion, comedy and the Web, airs live at 8 p.m. Aug. 16.
