EL Beat Bisa Kdei, Stonebwoy to Crown as Artist of the Year At 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards | CheckOut The Full Winners List

Despite the many controversies surrounding the 17th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, the biggest night on the Ghanaian music calendar was successfully held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday May, 7.

Ghana rapper and music producer Elorm Adablah, popularly known as EL has been declared 2016 Artiste of the Year.

EL beat Bisa Kdei, Stonebwoy, his closest contestants for the Artist of the Year to be crowned the best artist in Ghana.

It was a night for ‘BBnZ Live’ act EL picked up five(5) Vodafone Ghana Music Awards including Artist of the Year, Hip Hop/Hiplife Artist of the Year,  Music Producer of the Year, Best Music Video of the Year and Afropop Song of the Year. Highlife finest, Bisa Kdei showed his staying power by also winning four(4) awards including Most Popular Song of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year, Album of the Year  and Highlife Artist of The Year. The HighGrade Family Rapper Kofi Kinaata won two(2) nods including New Artist of the Year and Best SongWriter of the Year. The Former VGMAs Artist of the Year, the Bhim Nation boss Stonebwoy still retains as the best Raggae/Dancehall act as he picked up two(2) awards Reggae/Dancehall Song of Year and Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year. Finest and outstading group VVIP won themselves Best Group of the Year and Best Collaboration of the Year. 

The show hosted by actor Chris Attoh and actress Naa Ashokor blended perfectly with the official DJ for VGMAs DJ Black. The trio did perfectly well which kept the show running at a very smooth pace.

To me, this years awards organizers were awesome, which i rate them 89%, they did justice to their time from start to end.

The night was full of life, The 17th Edition saw great performances this Saturday from the likes of EL, then later followed with performances from Stonebwoy, Adomaa, Kofi Kinaata, Efya, Bisa Kdei, R2Bees, Joe Mettle, Sarkodie and Wizkid not forgetting the lengendary musician A.B. Crentsil and MUSIGA President Obour who took us back in time to enjoy vintage hit songs from way back in the days.

EL advised after picking his award as 2016 Artist of the Year from Mrs Theresa Ayoade, (CEO of Charterhouse) and Honourable Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, (Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts).

“I just want to say thank you guys for making my dreams come true. This goes out to anybody, if you have some dreams, don’t stop working towards them…Work towards your dreams”.
