ECOWAS has congratulated President of Togo, Faure Gnassingbe.
ECOWAS Chair President John Dramani Mahama has on behalf of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, congratulated the Togolese President, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé son of Togo Ex and Late President Eyadéma, who has been the President of Togo since 2005 and as been elected again as President on his swearing-in as President of the Republic of Togo following the election of April 25, 2015.
This was in a statement signed by the ECOWAS Chair President John Dramani Mahama in Accra.
According to the statement “Togo’s Constitutional Court is another milestone in the consolidation of democracy in our sub-region. This election is a victory for all the people of the Republic of Togo.”
The statement salutes all who participated in the democratic process including members of the opposition, and all domestic and international observers.

ECOWAS STATEMENT ON THE SWEARING-IN OF
HE FAURE ESSOZIMNA GNASSINGBÉ AS PRESIDENT OF TOGO.
On behalf of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, I wish to congratulate HE Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé on his swearing-in as President of the Republic of Togo following the election of April 25, 2015.
Today’s ceremony by Togo’s Constitutional Court is another milestone in the consolidation of democracy in our sub-region. This election is a victory for all the people of the Republic of Togo.
We salute all who participated in the democratic process including members of the opposition, and all domestic and international observers.
