Kumasi Polytechnic has honored popular actor Bill Asamoah as the Best Ashanti Regional Chairman (Ghana Actors Guild). BILL ASAMOAH together with the members of the Ghana Actors Guild (GAG) have not only entertained Ghanaians but also contributed a lot to the development of the society.He as a Regional Chairman has led GAG ASHANTI to chalk a lot of success stories notable amongst them is the adoption of KWADASO EDWENASE REHABILITATION CENTER.
Born WILLIAM ASAMOAH-ADDO to OPANIN KWAKU ASAMOAH AMPONG & MAAME ABENA OWUSUAH AGYEMAN, he had his primary education with the PRESBYTERIAN PREPARATORY SCHOOL in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region where his grandfather lived as a building contractor, he later came back to complete his GCE O & A LEVEL education with ASANTEMAN SEC. SCHOOL and OPOKU-WARE SCHOOL ‘SHIFT SYSTEM’ respectively in Kumasi
He currently holds an HND in Marketing, Advertising & Public Relations from the Institute of Commercial Management in UK.
BILL ASAMOAH as he is now known in Showbiz is married with three Kids, he started his acting career with KYEREMATEN PLAYHOUSE, resident Drama club of the Centre for National Culture in Kumasi.
In 2001 he together with KWAKU TWUMASI, KING ABOAGYE BRENYA, LATE KWAME OWUSU-ANSAH, NAANA HAYFORD and others formed the GHANA ACTORS’ GUILD (GAG) ASHANTI REGION, which he has since its inception rose from an executive member to the post of Regional Chairman.
He has featured in not less than 500 movies and still counting, of which he has won BEST ACTOR OF THE YEARS 2011, 2012 and MOST FAVOURITE ACTOR OF THE YEAR 2014, He also won THE KUMAWOOD AMBASSADOR FOR THE YEAR 2015, due to his selfless nature and commitment to civic duties, the former minister for local Government and now Chief of Staff Hon. JULIUS DEBRAH conferred on him SANITATION AMBASSADOR when the National Sanitation Day was officially launched.
His philanthropic nature caught the eyes of MY STORY FOUNDATION, an NGO which support needy persons especially the disabled and widows in our society, and have therefore named him as an AMBASSADOR to their course which he wholeheartedly accepted and is doing a wonderful job as such.
