Greed and the idyllic lives of millionaires are spotlighted in CNBC’s summer primetime lineup.
The lineup, announced Thursday, includes new shows “Blue Collar Millionaires,” “West Texas Investors Club” and “Make Me a Millionaire Inventor.” New episodes of “American Greed” were also announced.
“In primetime, we have built a distinct brand where business and entrepreneurism take centerstage,” said Jim Ackerman, senior VP of primetime alternative at CNBC. “It’s a great backdrop for storytelling, and our continuous growth tells us these programs are resonating with viewers.”
Docu-series “Blue Collar Millionaires” profiles big personalities who’ve gotten rich by getting their hands dirty. Eight half-hour episodes follow men and women who, at the end of a hard work day, drive home in sports cars to their sprawling mansions. It premieres July 15 at 10 p.m. on CNBC.
“West Texas Investors Club” takes place deep in the heart of Texas, where self-made multimillionaires Rooster McConaughey and Butch Gilliam carved their own fortunes. For the past several years, they’ve chosen to pass on that success by investing in promising entrepreneurs on their turf and their terms. The eight-episode series invites ambitious entrepreneurs from across the country to come down to West Texas and make their case. It premieres August 4 at 10 p.m. on CNBC.
“Make Me a Millionaire Inventor” is a six-episode series on a mission to find the best inventions never made and give them new life. Top engineers scour the country looking for amazing ideas they’re convinced can make big money. “Inventor” premieres Aug. 12 at 10 p.m. on CNBC.
“American Greed” explores the dark side of the American Dream, as narrator Stacy Keach reviews real-life cases involving credit card scams, identity theft, counterfeiting and Ponzi schemes. New episodes will air starting July 10 at 10 p.m. on CNBC.
