Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bernard Allotey Jacobs has confirmed on the Kokrokoo Morning Show that the host of Ekwanso Dwodwoo on Okay Fm, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana will run for the Mfantseman West Constituency on the ticket of the ruling party when nomination opens.
Speculations have been rife that some media personalities will also be contesting for parliamentary seats on the NDC's ticket after news of George Andah and Kwadwo Oppong Nkrumah’s decision to contest the upcoming NPP primaries went viral.
Abeiku Santana and Kwame Dzokoto were named as likely candidates for some "safe" NDC seats.
Confirming the report on Peace Fm’s flagship program Kokrokoo, Allotey Jacobs told the host Kwami Sefa Kayi "it is true that Abeiku Santana will contest the NDC primary for the Mfanteman West seat."
In a follow-up phone interview with OkayFM's Drive Time Host, he admitted to Peacefmonline.com that what the party's Central Regional Chair put out on PeaceFM is "indeed true", but quickly added he is yet to officially make a statement to that effect.
